Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology (formerly Known as Golden Valley Institute of Technology - GVIT) was started in the year 1986 at Kolar Gold Fields by Dr. T. Thimmaiah, Ph.D (London), IAS (Retired), as the founder President under the aegis of Golden Valley Educational Trust, with the sole purpose of imparting quality technical education.
Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) - Belagavi, Karnataka and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) - New Delhi.
Dr. TTIT is accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade.

About President
Dr T. Venkat Vardhan, the Managing Director of DNA Entertainment Networks Private Limited, is a dynamic individual responsible for the evolution of the live entertainment industry in India. Born and educated in Bangalore, the mechanical engineer from UVCE is responsible for putting India on the map in terms of global music events bringing home the likes of Aerosmith, Scorpions, Metallica, Dire Straits, Beyoncé and Shakira. His contribution as an event organiser saw him being elevated as the President of the Event Management Association of India under the aegis of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). In January 2015, he was bestowed an honorary Doctorate in the Field of Event Management and Rural Education by the University of Jerusalem.
His father, Late Dr T. Thimmaiah dedicated his life to establish various educational institutions in Kolar Gold Fields. Following in his footsteps, Dr T. Venkat Vardhan took over as President of the Golden Valley Education Trust and continues to grow the colleges under the trust in K.G.F., imparting quality education to over 5000 students annually in this rural area.
