Admission Procedure
I - Admission to Under Graduate Courses (B.E) – First Year

  1. KEA Eligibility Criteria (Government Seats):
    Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Standard / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
    Documents to be produced:

    1. SSLC / 10th standard Marks Card,
    2. 2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card of the candidate,
    3. Candidate’s Study Certificate from1st to 12th Standards
    4. If claiming Rural quota: - Rural Study Certificate from 1st to 10th std, for Ten Complete Years.
    5. If claiming Kannada Medium quota: Kannada Medium Study Certificate from 1st to 10th std, for Ten Complete Years.
    6. If claiming reservation benefits: Caste / Caste Income Certificate issued by Concerned tahsildar- For SC / ST in Form-D, Category-I in form E and 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in Form F.
  2. Management Quota Seats:

    Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)

    Candidates from Overall India having the above Academic Criteria are eligible to join to 1st Year BE under Management Quota Seats Directly in the college. No need to take-up any Entrance Examinations for Admission.

    Documents to be produced for the Admission:
    1. SSLC / 10th standard Marks Card,
    2. 2nd PUC / 12th standard Marks Card
    3. Candidate’s Study Certificates from1st to 12th Standards
    4. If claiming reservation benefits: Caste / Caste & Income Certificate issued by Concerned tahsildar- For SC/ T in Form-D, Category-I in form E and 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in Form F.
    5. Transfer Certificate
    6. Migration Certificate (Only for Outside Karnataka Students)

II - Admission to Under Graduate Courses (B.E) - (IInd year -Diploma Lateral Entry)

  1. KEA Eligibility Criteria (Government Seats):
    A candidate who has passed any diploma examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
    To get the admission under Government Quota seats, candidates must take-up the CET Entrance Examinations conducted by KEA, Government of Karnataka. Admission Procedure for the Government Seats is as per KEA norms.

  2. Management Quota Seats:

    A candidate who has passed any diploma examinations and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (Fifth and sixth semester) diploma Examination (Q.E) is eligible for admission to B.E courses, and 40% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka candidates.
    The candidates passed Diploma from Recognized Board / University from all parts of India can admit directly to the college under Lateral Entry Scheme to 2nd Year B.E. subject to fulfil all the academic eligibility conditions.
    Documents to be produced for the Admission:
    1. SSLC / 10th standard Marks Card
    2. All the 03 years Diploma Marks cards
    3. Study Certificates from1std to Diploma
    4. If claiming reservation benefits: Caste / Caste & Income Certificate issued by Concerned tahsildar- For SC/ST in Form-D, Category-I in form E and 2A,2B,3A and 3B in Form F.

Library

The College library was established in the year 1986. Initially the library started with 500 books. Today, the institute has a separate library block with an area of 1260 m2 with over 43,400 volumes of books covering all branches of Engineering for reference and issue.

Student can borrow two books at a time and can retain them for a maximum period of two weeks and the faculty members are given 6 to 12 books depending on their need.

The library has been automated with Easy Lib Software for online search of books and it also helps to reserve books. Reference section consists of reference textbooks, competitive examination materials, encyclopedia, data hand books, dictionaries and data books etc.

The library has a state-of-the-art Digital Library having 18 Systems for downloading the e-Journals and eBooks.

A Language Lab is set up with 15 Systems and all accessories along with an Audio- Visual Room for NPTEL Class/ Seminars.

NPTEL - Video
NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is an initiative of the IITs and IISc with the main objective to enhance the quality of Engineering and science education in the country by developing contents for undergraduate and postgraduate curricula using video and web based courses which cover the syllabi prescribed by universities and approved by AICTE. Through this initiative, they offer online courses free for all, and certification in various topics for a nominal fee. To take this initiative forward and to encourage more students across colleges NPTEL - Local Chapters has been setup.

Exam Section
With a team of dedicated staff, the Examination section conducts University Examinations as per the norms laid down by the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.

The Exam Section has a secured Online Question Paper Delivery System (QPDS) to print and pack question papers as per the directions of VTU. The Exam section ensures that the University exams are conducted strictly without any scope for malpractice. CCTV cameras are installed in all the class rooms and are made operational for all examinations as per norms.

The section also handles Application Issue and collection, Revaluation Application Issue and collection, Hall Ticket issue and Marks Card distribution.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT
  1. Each semester is considered as a unit and the candidate has to put in a minimum attendance of 85% in each subject with a provision of condonation of 10% of the attendance by the Vice-Chancellor on the specific recommendation by the Principal of the college where the candidate is studying, showing some reasonable cause such as medical grounds, participation in University level sports, cultural activities, seminars, workshops, paper presentation, etc.
  2. The basis for the calculation of the attendance shall be the number of periods prescribed by the University by its calendar of events. For the first semester students, the same shall be reckoned from the date of admission to the course as per CET allotment.
  3. The students shall be informed about their attendance position periodically by the colleges so that the students shall be cautioned to make up the shortage. The Principals of the affiliated Colleges shall submit the list of students who have been detained for shortage of attendance by the end of the semester to the Registrar (Evaluation) with a copy to the Registrar. Provided that mere omission by the college to inform the student about the shortage of attendance shall not entitle him to appear forthe examination.
  4. A Candidate having ashortage of attendance in one or more subjects and repeats the whole semester, such candidates shall not be permitted to take admission tothe next higher semester. Such students shall take readmission to the same semester in the subsequent academic year.
PROMOTION AND ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATIONS
  1. There shall not be any restriction for promotion from an odd semester to the next even semester, provided the candidate has fulfilled the attendance requirement.
  2. A candidate shall be eligible for promotion from an even semester to the next odd semester (i.e. to the next academic year) if the candidate has not failed in more than four heads of passing of the immediately preceding two semesters and has passed in all the subjects of all the still lower semester examinations. A theory or practical shall be treated as a head of passing.

  3. Illustrations
    1. A candidate seeking eligibility forthe 3rd semester should not have failed in more than 4 heads of the passing of first and second semesters taken together.
    2. A candidate seeking eligibility forthe 5th semester should have passed in all the subjects of 1st and 2nd semesters and should not have failed in more than 4 heads ofthe passing of third and fourth semesters taken together.
    3. A candidate seeking eligibility forthe 7th semester should have passed in all the subjects up to 4th semester and should not have failed in more than 4 heads of the passing of 5th and 6th semesters taken together.
