Introduction
Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications.

Electrical Engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas Electronic Engineering deals with the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits.

Alternatively, electrical engineers are usually concerned with using electricity to transmit energy, while electronic engineers are concerned with using electricity to process information. More recently, the distinction has become blurred by the growth of power electronics.

Graduates will be able to:
  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  11. Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Dept. Activities

1. IETE sponsored Poliah Bojja Seminar on Artificial Intelligence

Hosted at the e-Shikshana Centre, Dr.TTIT, an IETE-sponsored one-day seminar on "Classification and Prediction of MRI Images with Machine Learning Approach" was conducted on 17th November 2023.

The Chief Guest Dr. Polaiah Bojja, a renowned expert and Dean at the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad, shared valuable insights into AI techniques and their applications in medical image processing.

Students and faculty of EEE and ECE participated.

Dr. Bhuvanendiran, Prof. Deepa, Prof. Jeevika Mary, and Dr. Lakshmipathy. N, coordinated the session.



2. Industrial Visit | Deccan Hydraulics

On August 12th, 2023, an industrial visit was organized for the 4th semester students of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering to Deccan Hydraulics Pvt Ltd.

Approximately 50 students had the opportunity to participate in this enriching experience.

During the visit, the students were guided through different departments of the company, providing them with a firsthand exposure to practical aspects and real-world applications. This visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation.

3. Workshop on E-Vehicles

Mr. G. Yashwanth Kumar, Ms. Haritha and Ms. Vayshnavi, final year Students, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, along with Prof. Ronald Lawrence. J took part in the Two Days workshop on “Design and Safety in Electric Vehicle Technology” on 25th and 26th November 2022, organized by The Institution of Engineers (India) in Association with BNMIT Bangalore at IEI , Karnataka State Centre, Bangalore.


4. Student Participation in Hackathon

We extend our appreciations to Mr. Pranav Raghavan C M, 3rd Semester EEE (L), and Mr. Nithin Gowda H N, 3rd Semester AIML (R), for their participation and commendable efforts in the Intel Sponsored "Advent of GenAI Online Hackathon" held from December 5th to 11th. Their international team were successful in three out of five challenges.

Department of Civil,EEE & Mechanical Engineering Conducted One day Seminar on "How to Publish a Research Paper at UG Level" at Mechanical Seminar hall,Dr.TTIT on 16.10.2024 .Prof.Shashi Kumar V N ,Assistant Professor,Department of Civil Engineering ,Vemana Institute of Technology was the Session Speaker .
The session was highly informative and well-structured. It covered key aspects like topic selection, writing techniques, journal selection, and handling peer reviews. The presenter communicated effectively, and the Q&A session was helpful.
